The Dream Continues to Flow
Today was a glorious day, I took the leap of faith and invested into my dreams. I am now the proud owner of Porsche 944S. I finally decided on the Porsche after much thought because it is just phenomenal to drive. After taking this one for a test drive, I just knew internally that this was the direction to go. I spent most of my day off today driving around in it, getting used to the unique clutch too :P, and just enjoying the absolute joy of motoring. So, for those that are interested I am going into the reasons I bought this particular car:
1. Weight Distribution: The car is basically handles completely neutrally which is fantastic on the course, 49.7% rear 50.3% front.
2. Engine: The "S" model happens to come with a 16 valve DOHC (Double Over Head Camshaft) engine which puts out roughly 190 bhp. Sweet!
3. Design: Although it isn't a rear engine Porsche, it's design is still considered to be aggressive today and I absolutely love it! The lights pop up too!
I'm sure I could go on forever, yet, I'm so happy to have made this choice and honored myself enough to go after my heartfelt dreams. The Light is such a beautiful place to be. I might never know what is for my highest good, and I feel this is the most aligned experience I've managed to discover.
What happens now? I've got the state of being, I've got the car. Now, it's time to get in there and get my hands dirty! I took my Automotive Fundamentals class for a reason. I already have the list of repairs I need to do after having the car inspected from bumper to bumper. By doing it myself, I gain experience under the hood and I save money! What a deal! After a few months of repairs, I'll have this gal running as good as the day she came off the factory floor. By the way, her name is, Clara. :)
I'll post some pictures tomorrow when I can get some better lighting. :)

Manifesting My Dreams
I have caught the bug! The bug of going faster! I am in the process of following my dreams to building my first track car. I'm currently in the research and planning stage at the moment. This is quite a task for me because there are so many variables in choosing a vehicle! So far, I have narrowed it down to two choices the 1990-96 Nissan 300zx naturally aspirated or the 1987-89 Porsche 944. Both in my eyes would make a superb choice for me to start tinkering around with and getting my hands dirty! I feel as though the summer is going to be a great time to start working on whatever car I choose.
Manifesting this dream at this point for me is very grounded in reality right now. I am, for the first time, working full time and going to school full time, so, my life is already quite full! I also know that how I relate to myself while I go through the experience is pivotal in my process. With this in mind, I continue to support myself on all levels so that I may continue to deepen in the loving. Everyday at work puts me one step closer to this dream; I have a constant reminder of a GTR next to my monitor at work :). All it takes is one step at a time, one foot in front of the other.

Into the Light
I had such a fabulous weekend in class. My classmates, faculty, assistants, and readers really make it something special that I feel. I love entering my week filled with joy and upliftment, it's a great way to start :).
So I found out that my Dad is going all out for our trip to the racing school. He bought a trailer! I was amazed, so he can carry all his tools and tires and such. He is really going all out for this.
Over the weekend I shared with my class that I continuing to pursue this project by discovering the most aesthetically pleasing, beautiful, uplifting, intense, breathtaking driving experiences available in California. As a way to begin the week I would like to share an experience I had on one particular drive. It goes something like this...
I set off to drive up to the peak of Mount Wilson, which is about 5200 feet above sea level. Surprisingly, it is only about 25 miles from my house, who would a thunk it? I take the 210 west up to the 2 Angeles Crest Highway into the mountains. I begin the ascent with my own personal soundtrack. I happened to choose "Traveling Without Moving" by Jamiroquai, it opens the song with a Lamborghini Diablo SE30 accelerating from a dead stop; that gets my heart going every time, Whew! As I approach each bend, I sway back and forth, caressing each turn as if I were gently brushing up against a good friend. Upon reaching 3000 feet, I glance to my left, and my jaw drops. The scene of rolling, lush mountains across the crisp, clear, post-rain blue sky is absolutely magnificent. As I approach Red Box Road, the right side of the road is covered in snow, slightly dirty. The rest of the way is even more trecherous, tighter curves, less straights, yet absolutely amazing scenery. By the time I reach the top, I am completely stunned by the beauty. Standing between 100 foot radio towers, I gazed upon ALL of Southern California in one view! I could see the stretches of Santa Monica, out to Catalina, all the way down to Newport Beach. Gently, I took in the scene scape.
I realized that I was typing all in one paragraph, so here is a little division. :)
I got out of my car, and continuing gazing upon the beauty of human civilization. And then, I had this realization manifesting in the experience. We are all one. The roads, trees, water, buildings, people, animals, sky; we are all connected. I felt that this is what God would look at if God were to see us. I felt this level of elevated consciousness just by seeing everything with altitude. I then opened my hands, centered myself, and sent a blanket of Loving Light to all that is Southern California. It was a marvelous experience.

And So It Is
My name is Kris, I'm a 24 year old who is learning to become a race car driver, on a budget!
This blog for me is about tracking my current progress and sharing my learnings through the process.
As a kid, cars always fascinated me. Whether they were on the street or my Hot Wheels on the driveway, they greatly appeal to me. After many years of studying music, I lost sight of this original perception. It's evident that I have substantial German heritage I mean, I love classical music AND sports cars, go figure! :P
In finding this love of cars, I walked away from a talent I have in order to pursue something completely unique. When I don't associated myself with the one thing I am good at, then who am I? As a man, this is a difficult question to answer, we are often defined by what we do and not who we truly are :). (In my perception, we are all truly loving beings at our cores). So this is the story of someone who decided to follow a dream in the midst of financial chaos.
So, what am I doing you might ask?
First of all, I thought pretty deeply about this for a while and came up with some aspects of racing that I would need to know.
I go to this place call K-1 Speed, a high performance go kart track, to practice in real life the skills I learn. And it is only $20 a race! What a bargain!
I am reading a book written by the Skip Barber School of Racing called "Going Faster". This book is incredible because it gives the reader a look at how racing actually works from everything like power to weight ratios to yaw angles. It has real pictures that explain in detail oversteer and understeer and movable apex points. $25 on Amazon.
I purchased a realistic race simulator in addition to a force feedback steering wheel with pedals, so when I am not at the track I can travel all over the world and race some of the most popular circuits. My favorite car at the moment is the Ferrari 550 Maranello, it handles like a dream :). $20 for the game, $80 for the wheel.
So I also want to learn about how the car actually works too! So at my local community college, I am taking a course in Automotive Engineering to learn the basics of the machine known as the car. It is absolutely fascinating because I had never taken a course like that in high school or college, so technical and detailed. $94 for registration.
Finally, as a way to enliven my excited I have regularly subscribed to watching the BBC show Top Gear, I'm sure many of you have heard of it. I love watching those guys review the fastest most expensive new cars in the world, it really gets me going. And the best part is, It's FREE!
Like many people, I am searching for work right now in order to "fuel" ;) this dream to its maximum potential. (I love using puns :P) Yet, I have still managed to figure out a way to make it work.
